Several unions representing public sector contractors have planned to stage a demonstration in the capital Accra on Wednesday, August 1. According to local sources, the workers are demonstrating to demand payment of salary arrears. The demonstration is expected to take place in front of the Ghana Education Trust Fund. A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are possible in the vicinity of the demonstration.
Those present in Accra are advised to keep abreast of the situation and avoid any protests.
