On Friday, the pilot of a Polish MiG-29 fighter jet died after the plane crashed near the town of Pasłęk, in north-eastern Poland.
The accident occurred during a nighttime flight. According to the Polish Defense Ministry, the MiG-29 fighter operated from the 22nd Tactical Air Force Base.
The crash did not leave any casualties on the ground, but the pilot died despite managing to eject from the aircraft. Emergency services that arrived at the scene pronounced the pilot dead shortly adter the crash.
