A midair collision sent a small airplane plummeting into Susitna River, killing a person on board.
The National Transportation Safety Board confirmed one fatality Wednesday afternoon in the crash north of Anchorage, Alaska. The pilot of the second airplane made a safe emergency landing at an Anchorage airport.
