The first tropical storm of the 2018 East Pacific hurricane season developed south of Mexico on Wednesday morning.
An area of showers and thunderstorms that AccuWeather has been monitoring for tropical development since last weekend strengthened to a tropical depression south of Mexico on Tuesday night before quickly reaching tropical storm status early Wednesday morning.
Further strengthening is expected by 7 am of the 7th of June as the tropical system tracks west-northwest well south of the Mexico coastline.
